Contest Tips

Track your rating

Set a goal — e.g., reach LeetCode Guardian or CF Expert in 6 months. Rating is a signal employers check.

Contest > Practice

Solving under time pressure is a skill. 1 contest per week > 3 random problems.

Upsolve after every contest

After a contest, solve the problems you couldn't. That's where the learning happens.

Start with Div 3 / ABC

CF Div 4+3, CC Starters, LC Weekly are beginner-friendly. Don't jump to Div 1 too early.

Virtual contests

LeetCode and CF both allow virtual participation — solve old contests under real time pressure.

OA practice on HackerRank

Most Indian company OAs use HackerRank or HackerEarth. Get familiar with their editors before your actual OA.

Practice problems between contests to improve faster.
